Black Mental Matters
Black Mental Matters addresses the mental health disparities in the Black community by providing advocacy and awareness through programming and resources. Black Mental Matters provides a “Voice” to groups and individuals within the Black community in need of mental health resources who are underserved and under-represented.
Meet Your Hosts
Vince “The Voice” Bailey and Makeba Reed-Johnson co-hosts the weekly broadcast of Black Mental Matters. Together they have the tough conversations between themselves and with guests around topics concerning mental health within the black community.
Both Vince and Makeba have personal stories relating to mental health and the impact that it has had on their lives and the lives of their family. Their experiences give them the compassion and empathy to speak with and advocate on behalf of those currently working through mental health challenges.
